His seemingly #sanguine approach to the occult worried his colleagues

In truth, he was simply prepared for what was to come

Knowing what the ancient ones were going to do upon their return, put his mind at ease

None would survive, but at least he would be saved for last

Two plague doctors gathered at what used to be the town market. "Ezekiel doesn't wear a mask," Thaddeus said. "That's his true face. He's a... a bird-thing."

"Monster or no," Ezra said, "he's still a good doctor."

"You're so foolishly #sanguine. You need another blood letting."

“I don’t understand how you can be so #sanguine.”

She shrugged.

“You used to have a strong moral compass. And this is wrong.” He pointed.

“What do you want me to do?”

“Go back. Give them a stern talking to.”

She rolled her eyes. “All because they mismarked which one was the malt?” #vss365

Watched a penguin’s
#Sanguine strut
Across
The arctic ice

All the other
Penguins note
He wasn’t
Very nice

Guess that’s why
No one warned him
A bull seal
Hunted him

In fact,
Everyone
Encouraged him
To take a swim…

I know I know it’s been ages since I’ve written anything or at least posted that I’ve written something, but I’m still alive

It’s always the sanguine hearts
Whose mask of pain and regret
Hide a face that halts to let
That stop them

Day 622: Woke up. Wrote a poem. Made some art. Pinned it to the Wall. #Sanguine #vss365

You’d think a sanguine poem would receive a “humor” tag but no.

I heard Monday coming last night
It was yelling, as if warning
while I dozed in #sanguine melancholy
pretending that Sunday could last forever
yet nothing ever does, not even silence

Not having written any formal poetry for some time, here’s a #triolet on the theme of #sanguine - thanks to our host of #vss365 Verde Mar @tetrametracall1.bsky.social

"Great news, Madam President. The android armies have been pushed back!"
I switched to #sanguine mode and smiled. "I'm pleased to hear it."
Our operation was now harder, but not impossible. We had agents at every level in the enemy government. I sent a silent message to them all: Be ready.

The King arrived and weights lifted off the shoulders of the wary.

Their joys got stained #sanguine, existence painted in the vines they see.

A journey that gripped each ankle and left its mark. For the Crown we marched to the satisfaction of the cloaked one.

Who can be so sanguine without filtering out so much? Too much. But that's why that portrait of you was so terrible. Sanguine amplifies the white in a foisted world that scarcely sees beyond 'black and white.'
Layers of you were/are invisible to the world's sanguine devotees.

#vss365 He was strangely #sanguine about the king’s illness. Each morning the fever worsened. A week later, the king died. As the bells began to toll, the physician slipped the empty poison vial back into his case.

“Nothing to fear, Highness,” he said, and bowed to the new king #Edvane #DarkFantasy

Dylan felt surprisingly #sanguine about being ordered to the outlying regions of the Savannah System, one of the biggest, but surprisingly least populous of the Five Systems. They wanted him away from the business with that ship, but Dylan had all the data.

Distance would not stop him.
