Potrafi przekrzyczeć szum górskiego potoku dzięki ostrym, przenikliwym dźwiękom. U większości #birds śpiewają tylko ♂️. U pluszczy melodyjne głosy wydają też ♀️ – zwłaszcza jesienią i zimą, gdy bronią swych rewirów.

Dzięki swojej piórkowej wadze potrafi żerować na samych końcach gałązek, które złamałyby się pod ciężarem bogatki, czy wróbla. Kiedy nasiona szyszek są dojrzałe, chowa je na czarną godzinę w szczelinach kory, wciska między igły, chowa też na ziemi, wciskając w ściółkę.
