To be quite honest, I have stopped taking this seriously. I have no clue what is going on anymore. Was I not supposed to follow this as a proper story orrrr?? Like why is she saying "theif! thief!" with 808s going in the background. #hwa4 #yingelishiparty

i completely agree! there's no way everything is preserved properly when translating from one language to another -- could be tone, words, or even meanings! #hwa4

I got concerned after not understanding the first few that I was never gonna understand any of them. Thankful that was not the case. #hwa4 #yingelishiparty

When people from different countries use the same language, it can mean very different things. What might be lost in translation could also lead to something new. #hwa4 #yingelishiparty

I enjoyed the transitions of the instruments and singing throughout each section, its a nice touch #hwa4 #yingleshiparty

A genre I would say I am trapped in is autobiography. I feel that I am a reflective person by learning from my past experiences in general, and I can see that matching an autobiography. I think my next SMEs can make me think more "biographically" from a "birds-eye" lens #hwa4 #genrepressure

knowing that when something is translated you still don't account for cultural background knowledge of a phrase or missing context doesn't really equate to a proper translation most of the time #hwa4 #yingleshiparty

I'm thinking about how someone who doesn't speak English wouldn't understand this the same way I do. Someone else might understand or be familiar with something that sounds strange to me. #hwa4 #yingelishiparty

Just one note from my first listen. My brain would lit up every time I understand a word. Its like getting a reward as an English listener. #hwa4 #yingelishiparty

without the slides being there I feel a bit left out because I can't understand it and see it as not being able to interpret mandarin #hwa4 #yingleshiparty

"Oh, my God" is right! What is this beat switch, it feels so out of place lol. For it to be called "Tradegy Strikes" it feels like I'm entering a party. #hwa4 #yingelishiparty

this was such a throwback to 8th grade history!! #hwa4

It's funny how quickly I want to call something nonsense when I don't understand it. I guess I'm too used to thinking that the only way to connect with something is to understand it. #hwa4 #yingelishiparty

This ties in to what Ashley said about examining AI and how it stages knowledge. Claude is clearly disconnected from the human experience and does not represent an accurate knowing. #hwa4 #understandingeffect

I can't help but think of what someone who actually speaks mandarin would think of this and if it would sound like gibberish to them #hwa4 #yingleshiparty

I also wonder like what prompted the author to like make this traveling story. Was there just a theme with what kind of sentences could be made in this way, or was it by choice? #hwa4 #yingelishiparty

discussion was the AI/LLM segment of part 3 and comes into my own media thinking where we may let it define what "real" is. #hwa4 #wherethingsslip

I almost forgot I'm trying to understand a language because of how the sounds flow together. I'm not trying to figure out what this means, I'm just listening. #hwa4 #yingelishiparty

the contrast between the poetic meaning with the actual English translation was intriguing to see #hwa4 #yingleshiparty

My biggest takeaway was Yingelishi made me notice how uncomfortable it can feel when I cant immediately understand what im hearing. Instead of ignoring that confusion, the poems kinda make you sit in it and realize that listening doesnt have to mean fully understanding. #hwa4 #whatlisteningmakes
