#GenHour I have EE (in several versions) but I also find it helpful to see how ESM explains things in the forum. It helps me think through the problems.

Thanks for the main link. I went on the main website a bit earlier and read the QuickLesson on layered citations but it didn’t quite help…. I’ll take a look at the other link you sent me. #GenHour

#GenHour Here's a case of a record sent via email.

#GenHour Yes, you should record all those bits of information in your notes, but I'll defer to ESM about exactly how you should cite it. She's very good about crafting the citation so people can see you cited exactly what you used.
#GenHour When I have questions like that, I search the Evidence Explained website to see what ESM has advised people with similar questions.
#GenHour My local library has many of the ebooks available to borrow, and the series is available as part of the Kobo Plus subscription in the USA.
Still, if a book is $0.50 USD, and it's a topic I'm interested in (even if it's only for one person), it's hard to say no.
I also received my great-aunt’s death cert (my mat GF’s sister) via email from a cousin last night who has it in his possession. Regarding that death certificate, how would I cite that? Would it be the death cert itself (layer 1), his possession (layer 2), & then the email (layer 3)?

Hi #GenHour! On Tuesday, I sent out order requests to Michigan for 4 birth certificates, 1 marriage certificate, & 3 death certificates for my maternal GF, his siblings, & the marriage certificate was for his mother & stepfather.

I was surprised to discover the whole (?) ebook series of Tracing Your Ancestors is included in my Storytel subscription of ebooks and audiobooks. #GenHour
It's been lovely to finally get back to some personal research recently. I particularly enjoyed the postal worker occupation records for my 2x great-grandfather, William Herbert MARTIN.

#GenHour I'm doing a little family research happy dance today - booked in to SOG Huguenots event in London, TNA records retrieval AND research day there in Oct. Hugely exciting times for a small town lass from New Zealand 🇳🇿
#GenHour I have to say, I'm very happy to be a member of FSGS because Michael Strauss' handouts are usually packed with information.
