In what might be one of the weirdest marketing collaborations ever, MC Hammer wrote the film’s theme song. Titled Addams Groove, it was Hammer’s last major mainstream hit. It later won the Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Original Song in 1992. #FFBMovieNight

The Girl Scout is played by Mercedes McNab. She would return in Addams Family Values as Amanda Buckman, but she's mainly known for playing Harmony Kendall on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, and Misty Cooper in Hatchet. #FFBMovieNight

The Mamushka sequence was originally much longer, but was shortened following negative responses from test audiences. Many years later, Barry Sonnenfeld found the original negative, and the full scene was added to the extended cut on the 4K Blu-ray. #FFBMovieNight

Always trivia par excellence.🤌
You rock as always, @batquinn5801.bsky.social
Stay gold. #FFBMovieNight

Cousin It, Gomez’s gibberish-talking cousin whose entire body is covered in hair, is played by John Franklin. He's best known for playing Isaac Chroner in Children of the Corn (1984). #FFBMovieNight

At one point, Tim Burton was considered to direct The Addams Family, but he passed because he was busy filming Batman Returns. He would later serve as an executive producer on Wednesday and direct several episodes. #FFBMovieNight

The doll that Wednesday sleeps with is named after the last queen of France before the French Revolution, Marie Antoinette. In the show, Wednesday said Pugsley chopped her head off, which is a nod to how Marie was executed by guillotine. #FFBMovieNight

Back in the 1990s, movie-themed pinball machines were quite popular, so it’s no surprise The Addams Family got its own machine. Released by Bally, it’s the best-selling pinball machine of all time with twenty thousand two hundred seventy units sold. #FFBMovieNight

I always appreciate how the opening, with the carolers, and the boiling oil, feels like it might have actually been one of the comic strips created by Charles Addams.

I saw him first as Franco in the 1976 film “the gumball rally“. I was five.

The passenger inside one of Gomez’s miniature trains is the film’s director, Barry Sonnenfeld. This was his first movie, and even though it was a nightmare to shoot, it turned him from a cinematographer into a full-fledged director. #FFBMovieNight

Originally developed at Orion Pictures, the film went $5 million over budget due to constant rewrites, delays, and health problems. Fearing another big-budget flop, Orion sold the film to Paramount Pictures. #FFBMovieNight

The book that unlocks the vault is titled "Greed" and is written by J.P. Addams. This is a parody of banking tycoon John Pierpont Morgan, better known as J.P. Morgan. #FFBMovieNight
