Finally remembered my twitter login & that's where the #ffbmovienight crew seemed to be tonight. Ill try that earlier next time.
Either way: enjoyed the film

In the burial scene where the caskets are lowered into the ground with a tape recorder, the recording is a slowed down clip of Aleister Crowley repeating "bury me in a nameless grave" which is the opening line from his poem "The Poet" recorded in 1920.

This film would establish Sheri Moon Zombie as a Scream Queen. Ironically enough, she does not like horror films as they scare her too much.

The production was able to source a seven-foot-tall stuntman to double as Tiny.

In the beginning of the film, Dr. Wolfenstein says "I'm your host, your ghost host with the most!" This is a reference to both Disney's Haunted Mansion ("I am your host, your ghost host,") and Beetlejuice ("I'm the ghost with the most, babe.")

The lo-fi, grungy cutaways including the opening title sequence and the serial killer "flashbacks" during the murder ride were predominantly filmed by Rob Zombie himself on a camcorder during the film's year-long stint in production limbo.

As of 2021, many of the film's stars have passed away, including Karen Black, Sid Haig, Tom Towles, Dennis Fimple, Irwin Keyes, Matthew McCrory and Michael J. Pollard. This seems to be a rare distinction for a movie that is not yet 20 years old.

When the gang are eating dessert at the family's dinner table, the actors are actually eating Tiny Firefly actor Matthew McGrory's birthday cake. Zombie stresses that anytime we see Grandpa Hugo eating onscreen, Dennis Fimple was actually eating during every take. #FFBMovieNight #Houseofa1000Corpses

According to Rob Zombie, the close-up shot of the mop in the bloody bucket was the most challenging shot in the film to get right.

Production intentionally kept the effects cheap to emulate the gritty feel of 1970s horror.

The original, 105 minute version of the film was screened at a film festival prior to Lionsgate obtaining it. The version briefly leaked online on a peer-to-peer website, however, it was quickly replaced by the screener. It is extremely rare to find but the full length version exists.
