A4: manipulatives are for middle & HS Ss too!
I use coins, tiles/counters, blocks, dice, and algebra tiles are all important.
And although there are great virtual manipulatives (Mathigon Polypad & elsewhere), nothing beats the tactile experience if resources avail (time $ patience...)

Love these. I use pattern blocks for fractions as well. And @alisonmellomath.bsky.social has me on a hunt for fraction towers. I love how she emphasizes the verticality of the fraction towers. #ElemMathChat

I have Zoomed her and Steve into my classes! So fun. The kids know them as Annie and Steve - two "famous" math people. They are so enamored! She really is a great friend! #ElemMathChat
