So proud of @yusuke-mori.bsky.social and happy to see this out. Big shout out to our collaborators @ehannezo.bsky.social and Paul Robin. Take a read if you are curious about Yap, feedbacks, the ECM, adhesion GPCRs and #morphogenesis www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Postdoc at Duke Univ Cell Bio (Munjal lab) Interested in a self-organizes system across scales within morphogenesis and epithelial homeostasis. Previously: Ph.D.@Kyoto Univ. (Yasu Lab)
One of my favorite findings: a spatially organized mechanical pattern in extending epithelia. Cells are recruited through a feedback loop, and YAP activation is relayed among the recruited cells.
Huge thanks to Paul Robin, @ehannezo.bsky.social, @bagnatlab.bsky.social, and @akankshi.bsky.social, and Munjal lab members for a fantastic collaboration!
Our work is finally out! How do organs get the right shape and size on time? Using the zebrafish inner ear canal, we show that a mechanical feedback loop between the ECM and Yap1 drives timely tissue growth, and a built-in termination system shuts it down once morphogenesis is done.
