I'm privileged to have been profiled by the National Observer!
Transit is really popular and I wrote in the Tyee about how provincial parties could get more votes if they made transit promises!

I feel bad for not catching that in the moment. To be honest there were a lot of very misleading statements from him and I was having difficulty keeping track of them all.
From someone in the ministry: "the federal funding available for six years 2018-2024 was all committed by 2024. We now have a small $5m fund annually for schools to focus on school age care." So, we missed the boat on $1.2 BILLION of childcare money, and that was misleading on the part of the Mayor.
We find the range of candidate questionnaires incredibly helpful. Do you?
I support bringing family doctors and nurse practitioners to the District, following the model of Colwood and Langford. Government should be focussed on fixing important issues, not just planning for things we won't ever do.
(1/3) Tomorrow is the 1st advance voting day for the 2026 General Local Election! Advance voting runs from 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Monterey Recreation Centre (1442 Monterey Avenue). Parking is limited at Monterey Recreation Centre! Plan if you’re driving or walk, carpool, cycle or hop on transit.
As you head to the polls: Vote for the candidates who have earned your vote. For example, if that's only 4 candidates for Council, you don't have to vote for all 6 spots. Or if you only care about school board, you don't have to vote for everybody else.
The "candidate's choice question: newcomer candidate Katerina Weller talks about the need to audit recreation spaces and expand offerings because "recreation is about more than physical recreation."
@starkweatherforob.bsky.social on the current housing situation in Oak Bay (finally figured out captions!) Current status quo gives 2 bad options to people.
Happy to see a funding commitment from the NDP on this! It's been sitting vacant for something like six years now, and we haven't come close to building anything since Council killed the last proposal in 2011.
Congrats to @dianagibson.bsky.social for her successful advocacy!
I will continue to campaign for what my campaign stands for: affordable housing, access to primary healthcare, real climate action, and a safe and welcoming community for everyone.
