Democrats should make the Postal Service a case study in how Trump’s corrupt leadership and austerity agenda are hurting the American people.

FROM THE ARCHIVES: When our meteorological luck runs out and the next big hurricane hits, the devastating effects of Trump’s FEMA attacks will be indisputable. (Published December 2025)

Last month, the U.S. Postal Service was thrust into the headlines again when the Supreme Court temporarily blocked President Trump’s new restrictions on mail-in voting. buff.ly/7VkFo7M

Imagine what USPS could do if we treated it like an essential public service, rather than continuing to run it like a business (and into the ground). prospect.org/2026/10/07/m...

Dems should also hold the Postal Board accountable — and stop confirming nominees who will just be rubber-stamps for austerity.

The Dejoy/Steiner “Delivering for America” plan has also led to severe mail delays, hurting rural areas and seniors who need timely delivery of medications.

Protecting USPS is part of the affordability agenda — especially for the millions of small businesses and consumers on who are getting screwed by constant postage hikes.

NEW: Our @merryvishmas.bsky.social writes in @prospect.org about Trump's relentless attacks on the USPS — and why Democrats should make saving and expanding the Post Office a top oversight priority.

Caught in the crosshairs are the millions of Americans who depend on a well-functioning public Postal Service, from small businesses that rely on affordable postage to seniors who need timely delivery of medications. prospect.org?p=145911

NEW from me:

I’m back in @prospect.org for @revolvingdoordc.bsky.social today, making the case for why Democrats should fight to protect and expand the Postal Service.

The U.S. has withdrawn its last troops from Iraq, 23 years after a Republican president launched a war of choice based on lies that cost trillions of dollars, killed hundreds of thousands of people, and unleashed regional chaos. History doesn't repeat, but it often rhymes.

The real reason Neera Tanden and Third Way can't stop talking about Hasan Piker? To keep the Democratic Party under the control of the corporate elite.

25 years ago today, George W. Bush signed the 2001 Authorization for Use of Military Force into law. Barbara Lee was the only member of Congress to vote against it, warning it would be a blank check for forever wars. History has proven her lonely and courageous vote right.

"Never before in the history of capitalism has so much money been asked from so many people to help so few who screwed up so badly." Here's what I told Conan O'Brien about bank bailouts after the crash of Lehman Brothers — which happened 18 years ago this week.

The War on Terror began 25 years ago today, when Congress passed the post-9/11 Authorization for Use of Military Force. Only one member of Congress had the courage and foresight to oppose this blank check for forever wars: Barbara Lee.

Canada is one of our biggest trading partners. Donald Trump is one of our biggest economic illiterates. Now the rest of us are caught in the crossfire of an idiotic trade war that’s going to hurt regular people more than they’ll benefit.

As Third Way's crusade against Hasan Piker grows more unhinged, don't forget their real motivation for attacking him: to entrench oligarchic control over the Democratic Party.
