Only two moths last night due to blustery wind and clear skies. Nevertheless, can’t complain when one of them was Flounced Chestnut, a garden ✅ and scarce species in the county these days. The other one was a November Moth agg. #TeamMoth @teesbirds.bsky.social

Water Stick-insect was abundant today among emergent vegetation in lake at Cowpen Bewley Country Park nr Billingham. Other rapidly-expanding southern insects included Saucer Bug & Migrant Hawker dragonfly. None of these were present when I surveyed the lake in early 2000s.
