My favourite pic from yesterday's visit to the Victorian subway in Crystal Palace. I was one of the first in, so I managed to grab a few snaps without fellow visitors in shot.

A collection of octagonal, cream-coloured brick pillars, with funnel-shaped tops that stretch towards the ceiling, stand upon a stone floor. The 'funnels' are a mix of red and cream brick, with the lighter bricks forming diamond-shaped patterns. The pillars cast deep shadows across the floor.

This afternoon saw my first visit to Crystal Palace's restored Victorian subway. It was a 35-minute taster of Dracula, performed by British Touring Shakespeare, that finally got me down there. Really enjoyable show: a great cast in what felt like a fitting location, of which they made good use.

The cast of Dracula take a bow at the end of their performance at the Crystal Palace subway. In front of them the audience applaud. Behind them are archways leading to the main part of the subway. An open coffin prop - black with red trim and a silvery/purply inside - lies on the floor of the performance space in the subway. Inside the coffin is a small wooden stake; on the floor beside it is a hammer.

Finally managed to lay my paws on John Carpenter's Cathedral - the graphic novel, I mean. I've been spinning the album since its release, but I've had a bit of a 'mare getting hold of the book, which seems to be a rare sight in UK shops, both online and offline. Feels good to be holding it at last.

John Carpenter's Cathedral - the graphic novel and the CD - on top of a CD player, lit by the yellow light of a big, bulb-like table lamp.

I've made a new video with @deadlight-dance.bsky.social. Back in July, Tim rewatched They Live, and later suggested that if we nicked its core idea and gave it a #vegan twist it'd make a good basis for the band’s next promo. As a fan of both the film and not eating animals, I agreed. So here it is.

Yesterday I was asked, via a paid study, how I'd feel about a 'digital twin' of me - an A.I. clone built from my online profile - answering questions on my behalf. I find the idea terrifying. Just being asked about it is haunting me. I couldn't help but think: 'Erm... why are you asking?'.

Went to see Reece Shearsmith's new show, Things I Took From The Dark, at the London Palladium. A comedic (book) tour of some objets d'horreur, with autobiographical chat and a chance to ask questions*. Splendid evening. Just gotta shift this curse now... * Anonymously via text - aka the best way.

An LED 'poster' outside the Palladium, advertising Things I Took From The Dark: Reece looks quizzically at the viewer, while a hand-drawn monster sits on his shoulder.

Opened the curtains this morning to a vision of dense mist. Slight chill in the air, too. At last, I'm getting what I signed up for. #Autumn

Always nice to see in venues. (Snapped last night at the Shacklewell Arms in Dalston.)

A sign stuck to a door, which says: "Please respect the artists, avoid loud conversations in the gig room." All caps. White text on a red background.

Yeah, I had a good time with it. A feast for the eyeballs - especially the toy displays. And wrapped Lucozade! Proper. 😄

Some old Lucozade bottles, two of which are wrapped in orange-coloured film - just like the Lucozade I used to sip when I was off school sick in the 1970s.

Some vintage radios enjoying their retirement at the Museum of Brands, in Notting Hill, London. My first visit, it was a really enjoyable couple of hours - and a huge nostalgia blast once the '70s kicked in.

A glass-fronted display cabinet full of vintage radio sets - with more radios sat on top of it, piled three high and running the length of the cabinet.

Olfactory art installations should be called inhalations.

Popped into a freshly stocked @treadwells-books.bsky.social this afternoon to pick up the @hookland.bsky.social book, and was complimented on my choice at checkout.

(I say 'popped into'; I actually walked 12 miles to get there. It was a rainy, overcast day and I fancied the stroll.)
