The Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is now the fastest-growing on record. Ipas DRC is adapting its work so women and girls can continue receiving safe, essential reproductive health care. You can learn more in our Q&A with Ipas’s Dr. Mike Mpoyi: buff.ly/Ax3h8SC

Graphic urging reproductive health access during the Ebola outbreak, showing a large quote that women and girls are disproportionately affected because sexual and reproductive health needs are deprioritized, with a circular photo of Dr. Mike Mpoyi and the Ipas logo.

How is repro health impacted by climate change? We’ve asked hundreds of people around the world this question. Ultimately, our research shows that climate change diminishes people’s ability to control when, whether and how to have children. The climate crisis is a reproductive justice crisis.

Statement reading "The climate crisis is a reproductive justice crisis," with a subheading "Here are 3 key impacts we’ve heard over and over again" and the Ipas logo, calling attention to links between climate change and reproductive justice.Access to abortion and contraception is often impossible during climate disasters—people fleeing may leave contraceptives behind and cannot reach closed or destroyed health centers and pharmacies, illustrated by storm-damaged and ruined pharmacies and a displaced person.Climate disasters increase sexual violence and unwanted pregnancy—women confined to homes or shelters or forced to walk farther for food and water face higher risk.Graphic explaining that child marriage increases in areas ravaged by climate change as families sink into poverty; three panels depict a tornado hitting a school, a collapsed school building, and a damaged home with people clearing rubble.

Our hearts are with all those affected by the devastation in Nepal—including our Ipas colleagues. Your donations can help Ipas Nepal distribute dignity kits, which provide toiletries and sanitary pads, to give women much-needed dignity and relief after enduring so much hardship. buff.ly/ltdsUa9

We all win when women and girls thrive. Thanks to the Government of Canada for standing up for what’s right and building a safer, more prosperous world for us all!

What a woman! Gloria Steinem understood that gender equality, economic well-being, and even global stability depend on reproductive freedom. She was an outspoken advocate, activist, intellect and feminist icon who inspired so many of us at Ipas, and around the globe. Rest in power, Gloria! ✊🏻✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿
