Two tools are in development: an AI chatbot for exploring weADAPT's knowledge base, and an AI-assisted tagging and metadata system. Participants shaped both. Key user priorities: transparency about the AI model, feedback mechanisms, human review of AI summaries, and better tagging consistency.

In FAIR2Adapt, we co-design tools with the climate change adaptation community (CCA). A recent example is our workshop with weADAPT, a platform used by thousands of CCA practitioners worldwide, to ask what their users actually need and feel comfortable with.

Three complementary FAIRification frameworks were introduced and stress-tested against real domain case studies. Rather than competing, the groups agreed to position their frameworks as complementary components of a unified FAIR ecosystem.

Implementing FAIR principles at scale is challenging. Last Friday, our colleague Barbara Magagna (GO FAIR Foundation, FAIR2Adapt) joined experts from ELIXIR Europe, CODATA, and SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics at ECCB 2026 in Geneva for a full-day workshop dedicated to that challenge.
