Yeah not actually all present during the WeBS count but @joestockwell.bsky.social had them leave the roost this morning in several flocks from first light to gone 8am. @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social
Sorry, my bad it was only 224 Cattle Egrets! 😬

It was @webs-gsmp.bsky.social count day on the Fleet today. Gutted that the 30+ Greylags didn’t appear in my Rodden to Shipmoor sector. Surely a reserve record. My best was heard only Brambling. In Swannery sector @joestockwell.bsky.social had r-t Hen Harrier, ♂ Scaup, 5 Great & 234 Cattle Egrets.
Eclipse Drake Scaup present for 2nd day, slightly hesitant on its purity yesterday as a duck we'reseeing less and less and less of each year let alone in this plumage! @swannerysteve.bsky.social
Nice start to the day with the autumn's first Jack Snipe @swannerysteve.bsky.social
Yellow-browed Warbler (heard only) along old Abbotsbury/Portesham Railway line, this afternoon. @joestockwell.bsky.social @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social
Siberian Chiffchaff from the first net round at the Swannery this morning @swannerysteve.bsky.social
6 Great Egrets just dropped in, still a bit of a novelty at the Swannery compared to abundant Little & Cattle. No sign of the Glossy Ibis though. @joestockwell.bsky.social @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social #abbotsbury
Glossy Ibis (1cy) dropped into the Swannery Grounds at around 4.30 this afternoon. @joestockwell.bsky.social @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social #Abbotsbury
Presumed Great Black-backed X Herring just now at the Swannery, any opinion greatly recieved, these things are beyond me!
Our 1st Garganey this morning since February (the over-wintering bird). @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social @joestockwell.bsky.social @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social
Not unexpectedly… No Grey Phalaropes in the Swannery Embayment so far this morning @joestockwell.bsky.social @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social
Juv Knot indeed 👍🏻
Both still present 2pm when one appeared to fly off. One still present to 4.30 at least. Osprey also.
Now two present.
Grey Phalarope on the algae mats in the eastern Swannery Embayment this morning. @joestockwell.bsky.social @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social
That begs the question… which part of the UK was accidentally bombed by the RAF? 😬🤔
Hemp probably if he’s a relative of the Bridport lot 😁
A little online research would suggest that the parish church would seem to be the only large building present in 1920, that might be enticing to a passing Wallcreeper. Any Manor House if present appears to have long gone by then. 🤔
White Stork low over the Swannery grounds just now. Circled over Chapel Hill then did another low pass. Pretty duff of late. @joestockwell.bsky.social @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social
