@campradio.bsky.socialReposted by @morctapes.bsky.social@morctapes.bsky.socialthe album is out on oct 28th, preorder ship a bit earlier. treat yourself, you deserve it!
@morctapes.bsky.socialOn s/t, he turns to voice and guitar, with dreamy synth driven songs steering far away from the songwriter-cliches. A carefully produced yet never overworked album, taking all the time it needed.
@morctapes.bsky.socialthis beauty is now up for preorder: "Mayday Royale", the debut lp of Goldscammer.
Goldscammer is the solo project of Tim Depraetere, a long time presence in the Belgian underground (ao collaborator of Annelies Monseré), finally delivering a solo debut:
@morctapes.bsky.sociali should also probably mention that on that same tour, he did a perfect version of 'don't fear the reaper'. another song i don't care about, but in Ray's hands, it was gold.
anyway: his last album was excellent, and totally overlooked. listen. raymondbyronesp.bandcamp.com/album/bond-w...
@morctapes.bsky.sociali've never heard this version before, but it sounds like i remember Ray perfoming this on Castanets' euro tour just weeks before City of Refuge came out. still sad he's gone, one of my favorite artists of the past 20 years.
@morctapes.bsky.sociali mean: look at this tracklist. pretty great episode.
@morctapes.bsky.socialwe end with a warm recommendation for the Blod (and Goldscammer and Leda!) show in Brussels. also some details about the upcoming morc/lise event on nov 5th.
@morctapes.bsky.socialalso in this episode: new material by synergy trllogy, thomas bush and leda, a part about our recently rediscovered love for joy division, which also brings us to a very rare @lowtheband.bsky.social recording, and a very underappreciated Roy Montgomery-piece.
@morctapes.bsky.socialLatest episode of morcfm is now online: we start of this episode of morc with 'The lost beliefs' - one of the songs from the upcoming Goldscammer lp 'Mayday Royale'. an incredible 10 minute long epic. for the rest of the album, you'll have to wait until late october.
@morctapes.bsky.socialsee you in Kortrijk!
@morctapes.bsky.social"Things stay hushed and focused (...) it's impressive that all of Wade holds together as well as it does; a carefully constructed atmosphere that’s easy to spend time in."
some really nice words from Dusted Magazine about the Circle bros lp 'Wade'
(lp still available via morctapes.com/store )
