Halloween costumes for birders. This is from last year and someone actually did the sexy owl pellet one.

A comic called halloween costume ideas for birders. In panel 1, labeled easy, there's a person labeled northern cardinal wearing a party hat, a beak, and red clothes, and a person labeled roseate spoonbill wearing pink clothes and a wooden spoon on their nose. In panel 2, labeled harder, there's a person labeled merlin sound ID wearing a big green circle with a microphone modeled after the button on the merlin sound ID app, and a person labeled hybrid green x blue jay wearing a complex costume with a mask and robe and hat modeled after a recently discovered hybrid bird. In panel 3, labeled challenging, there's a person labeled baltimore oriole nest wearing an enormous accurate woven oriole nest suspended from their arms and shoulders, and a person labeled african jacana carrying chicks with a hideous costume of long-toed bird feet hanging from their armpits. In panel 4, labeled hot, there's a person labeled high quality spotting scope who is shirtless and is wearing a spotting scope mask on their head, and a person labeled sexy owl pellet wearing an owl pellet top and bottom with a mouse skull on their head.

Chuck Jones' Rule 8. "Whenever possible, make gravity the Coyote’s greatest enemy."

The trolley problem. The road runner is on one of the trolley tracks, and Wile E. Coyote is in charge of the switch.

When he throws the switch, the trolley falls vertically through the tracks. A trick of the perspective means he is actually underneath, not beside the track, so he is flattened by the trolley.

Yes, but stories of "civilizations" and "swarms" of "rogue agents" are MUCH more exciting.

Just take matter and organize it such that it imposes its will upon the world. That's the easy part. CEOs do harder things than that every day!

This lizard thing. aka "Life"

“Humans are great at agency and terrible at book learning,” Alexander told me. “Lizards have agency. We got the agency with the lizard brain. We only got book learning recently. The AIs are the opposite.” He still thinks it’s only a matter of time before they catch up. “If you were to ask an AI how should the world’s savviest businessman respond to this circumstance, they could create a good guess. Yet somehow they can’t even run a vending machine. They have the hard part. They just need the easy part that lizards can do. Surely somebody can figure out how to do this lizard thing and then everything else will fall very quickly.”

Some sort of evolutionary-development combination? Like some type of "evo-devo" thing?
