[uspol] Look if wheeling out a disabled man who's been in jail since 2013 anyway and shooting him to death on livestream in order to demonstrate that being a terrorist is bad isn't enough to win me the Nobel Peace Prize this time, I really don't know what is going on in the heads of the […]
@sxa yeah but my first point about whether anyone cares? I'm sure they're more worried about whether payment cleared
@Edent tbf I'm not sure mine do much from 0 to 50, but even having them reliably keep power so I get notified to water when dry would be great. Have had mine years and never got around to properly utilising them
@Edent interesting, I don't think mine can be calibrated. Then again they're cheap and the batteries don't last well so they don't do much for me at all (should probably try some LiIon AA tbf)
@sxa nobody cares? AI?
ah damn, RIP Margaret Hamilton.
she took safety-critical software engineering seriously, and got people to the moon and back.
StarSkirmish pits AI-made StarCraft-playing bots against one another, as well as against human-made bots. OpenAI’s GPT-6 Astra and Claude Opus 5.5 were essentially tied as the best-performing AI-made bots, but they couldn’t top Stardust, the top-rated human-made bot. On Friday, GPT was facing […]
@sxa mine other TV is the same, no Netflix as they've turned off support for the apis and the manufacturer doesn't do updates. Currently using an old xbox to get occasional use of that TV
@Edent @Edent yeah exactly this. I have a quite pricey Garmin for running. As a smart watch I use it to see messages on my wrist and tell the time. I hardly use payments, I mostly have my phone anyway.
The part that justified the price was gps running tracking with maps and navigation, including […]
my friends wanted to pass on the reminder this Spooky Season that black food dye (often made from activated charcoal, which is used for treating poisonings) can cause your medications to be ineffective
@Edent an excellent plan.
@Edent I don't have a current meter on my oven so it's hard to isolate the cost but I wonder what heating the oven plus 20m cooking actually uses...
@Edent ah yeah the timing sound painful. I assume you don't have a battery for the house to flatten that out?
@edent.tel @Edent 37p doesn't sound too bad to me... Only marginally above my 36.49 day rate, but i only get down to 17.19 at night, nowhere near negative
Quite a range though from one to the other there
Massive Qi chargers for cars!
I can see the utility of using this for slow charging. But is it really that much of a faff to plug in a cable? I wonder how perfectly aligned the car needs to […]
The WAR ON WALKING has taken many forms around the world. It’s often as simple as how we signal who space is and isn’t for.
Once our eyes are opened to all the ways we’ve prioritized cars over people, we can’t unsee it.
Frustrating photo contributed by @stadsplanering.bsky.social. #WarOnWalking
@Edent also amused that their "high" electricity usage house is 4MWh... Lasy year we used 13 😱 (though some of that was self-generated and a chunk was for the cars)
@Edent ah thanks, NI is a different energy market
