Haha. Fair enough.

Maker of random things, co-maker of one person, Google Arts & Culture engineer. I like pixels. he/him.
Haha. Fair enough.
Why did you discontinue the black shell (that's the one I have so I'm wondering if I need to worry)? New transparent colors are beautiful, kudos!
Making eenky appealing to ink writers was a key part of my secret plot to get people to try eenk. I am very proud that it worked on at least one author I know.

Defining the problem space is the new challenge.
Inspiring! Thanks for the read.
Nice! Jon's story is live by the way! bsky.app/profile/tomg...
It's here! :)
PS: the (still fairly simple) epub reader has also been improved with this firmware update to handle beefier books, and now provides table of contents access for quick random jumps, as some kaleidoscopic books sometimes require. It's quite snappy, even ok X4!
Eenky, the story editor, has also received an update today.
v2.0.4 brings a bit of polish in the side bar, and improvements to the auto-runner that now shows detailed stats about checkpoints or chapters reached, if you use these (you should, even if just for debugging).
Flash today's new firmware release (v1.0.6) to make sure it runs smoothly. This lovely TechNoir piece really pushes eenk, with dynamic chapters to rewind to, custom fonts and - obvi - masterful ink. And at 400kB RAM I can tell you the X4 would make a pretty bad psyphon.
Delighted to share that PSYPHON, by @jon.inkle.co, is now available on the eenk stories catalog!
"Courier job. Turn up at the hotel, port ready. Several terabytes, but you've cleared the space. Will get your mind back once it's done. Nothing's going to go wrong."
I dont know where you're going but you've got my attention
New Interactive Fiction piece.
Authored by @jon.inkle.co.
Written specifically for eenk.
Coming tomorrow.
Warm up your ports.
I feel like it hits a bit differently on PC (the Stanley Parable, Undertale...) but maybe it's simply that I was an older gamer when played these. Still enjoy it though. Anyway, Eternal Darkness 100% deserves a proper remake (and could really use modernized gameplay and visuals) let's go Nightdive!
Exciting! For some reason console games that break the fourth wall at a gameplay level like MGS or, here, Eternal Darkness, made a huge impression on me as a kid. Those "Wait, they can do that?" moments felt like magic.
When creating this short, I swear after 2 hours I still couldn't find a free, quick way to create captions. So I summoned one with ViBe CoDe. Took 9 mn.
Introducing Boom! CHLACA (cheap & lazy captions). It's fast, works locally, and it's up for grabs on GitHub (Windows only). github.com/t0mg/CHLACA
Here's a shiny new YT short to showcase the little stories catalog of eenk ✨
It was fun to make! It's loopy. It's got captions, bells and whistles. Go watch it or I'm trying brainrot next.
Ok wow. Now please release the Nicoptere cut.
