I have now submitted for inclusion #Budgie Desktop from @buddiesofbudgie.bsky.social to @aerynos.com 🥳
I fully expect that it will undergo thorough review and there'll be some fixes I need to do (new to packaging for #aerynOS specifically), but we're closer to the finish line!
aerynOS Volatile stream update
We have landed @system76.bsky.social Cosmic 1.9 into our volatile stream for testing.
Happy to see the inclusion of COSMIC Viewer, created by aerynOS' very own Bryan Hyland! Great work @carlrichell.bsky.social and the team!
aerynOS: Unstable stream update 23th September 2026
Another big update this week with GNOME 51, a load of additional Wayland Compositors, Linux kernel updates, swapping to simpledrm for graphical boot and a load more.
It will definitely yeet your windows partition. We aren't yet supporting multi-booting capabilities at this stage. Please be patient with us and once we are closer to beta, the feature will come
Unstable stream update: 13th September 2026
Decent update to our unstable stream this week.
We landed LLVM 23.1.1, Cosmic 1.8.0, Plasma 6.7.5, Linux 7.2.5 and Nvidia Driver 615.71.09 amongst a load of update updates and additions.
Just to note that we do currently use systemd (nothing stopping you packaging up rinit for your own use) and more importantly, we are still in alpha so our tooling is likely to change. I don't want to scare you away, but I do want to be clear, it might be too early for aerynOS as an upstream.
Thank you for your contonu coverage of aerynOS!
aerynOS shares its August 2026 progress, including a rewritten Lichen TUI installer, Btrfs support, and a repository-wide rebuild covering over 1,700 recipes.

One of the parts I struggle the most with the blog posts! How many different images can you use to play on the idea of building/creating/constructing a Linux distribution!? Hope all is well with you my friend!
