I’m biased 😊: these reconfigurable graphene frequency multipliers were made in the #grapheneflagship 2D Pilot Line Multi Project Wafer Run #3 at #AMO (@amogmbh.bsky.social)! The Granada team demonstrates up to 4x multiplication with a single split-gate graphene FET. 🚀

A new field-emission #SEM now being installed in our cleanroom, strengthening our capabilities for the characterization and analysis.

The acquisition is supported by the State of North Rhine-Westphalia through the project #IPIQ, funded under the EFRE/JTF-Programm NRW 2021–2027.

At a ceremony, Daniel and Sebastian Schall were honoured for their pioneering technological vision and the entrepreneurial courage to bring it to market. We are proud that Black Semiconductor has its roots at AMO and are delighted to see Daniel and Sebastian receive this well-deserved recognition.

@amogmbh.bsky.socialSep 7, 2026, 10:45 AM

In 2020, the two brothers founded #BlackSemiconductor, a spin-off from AMO, with the idea of using light instead of electricity to transmit data on computer chips.

Black Semiconductor counts today more than 167 employees and quarter of a billion euros funding.

Perovskites offer exciting opportunities for optoelectronic and photonic devices, but their low thermal conductivity remains a major challenge. In this paper, we show that adding an ultrathin hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) capping layer can make a remarkable difference.
