The National Cancer Plan provides an important opportunity to put those ambitions into practice for young people affected by cancer too, ensuring their experiences and outcomes are better understood, and that their voices remain at the heart of decision-making. (7/9)

At the Party Conference, the Prime Minister and others spoke about the importance of supporting young people and setting ambitious policies that improve their lives and opportunities. (6/9)

A key message from the discussion was clear: there is still too much inequality in cancer care and support for teenagers and young adults. (5/9)

We also heard from Franki, one of our Youth Support Coordinators, and Laura, a Teenage Cancer Trust Lead Nurse, who shared why specialist services are so important in meeting the unique needs of young people with cancer. (4/9)

We were joined by Mel and Kai, members of our Youth Advisory Group, who shared their experiences of cancer and the vital difference that age-appropriate, specialist support made to their care. (3/9)

At this year’s Labour Party Conference, we brought together parliamentarians, cancer charities, youth organisations and healthcare professionals for our Cancer Care, Made for Young People roundtable, chaired by Steve Yemm MP. (2/9)

Every year, we attend political party conferences to engage directly with politicians and policymakers, ensuring the needs of young people with cancer remain high on the political agenda 📢 (1/9)

With this, we hope to see commitment to equity in specialist mental health provision, recommendations to reduce diagnosis delays & barriers to clinical trials and support for Teenage Cancer Trust & other bodies delivering specialist support for young people with cancer. (3/4)

Alongside young people with cancer & charity partners, we've been calling on the Scottish Government to renew the current CYP cancer plan. This promising commitment helps us get closer to ensuring young people with cancer in Scotland get the specialised care they need. (2/4)

Earlier this week, the Scottish Government made a welcome announcement that they will renew the Collaborative and Compassionate Cancer Care Cancer Strategy for Children & Young People when it comes to an end this year. (1/4)
