IOP and @ioppublishing.bsky.social extend our warmest congratulations to Prof Francis Halzen, awardee of the 2026 Nobel Prize in Physics "for decisive contributions to the IceCube Neutrino Observatory and the discovery of high-energy neutrinos of astrophysical origin".👏
Happy World Teachers’ Day! We asked our Student Ambassadors to tell us about the teachers who inspired them to choose physics and the impact they’ve had on their journeys. Their stories are a reminder of just how much a great physics teacher can make a difference to the physicists of tomorrow.
A special thank you to our speakers, who ensured the event was insightful, inspiring, and truly memorable:
➡️ Dawn Watson FInstP, IOP VP for Membership
➡️ Paul Bailey MInstP, CEO at Engineering Council
➡️ Sonia Sondhelm CSci CPhys MInstP
