#NationalPoetryDay theme is Wonder.Golden Wonder crisps, now part of Tayto Group, were started by William Alexander, in an Edinburgh factory in 1947. They invented - if that’s the right word - ready salted crisps in the space race era. They had their priorities right.

Post-Whitley Bay parkrun. Seems it was my 200th there. Think I’ve probably enjoyed about 198 of them. Another stunning coastal morning. #whitleybay #parkrun

Top Poetry Post Day.I pop out for a fight in the crisp aisle, and find these 2 corkers on the mat when I return. Thanks to @attielime.bsky.social and @afharrold.com whose prompt posting panache is on a par with their wonderful wordy ways. @troikabooks.bsky.social @foxandinkbooks.bsky.social

Post-Whitley Bay parkrun. The warmth and sunshine forced me to run along more of the coast, checking it was still as horrible as I thought. @parkrunandphotos.bsky.social #parkrun #whitleybay

A box arrived - protective packaging - Reena Makwana’s lovely cover - my words & more of Reena’s lovely illustrations. Ten tiny illustrated food-related tales. Some serious. Some not. If you want one send £6 inc p&p and I’ll send you one. I’ll write more nonsense inside. If you want.

Data centres are springing up everywhere, using massive amounts of energy and water. I’ve signed @friends-earth.bsky.social’s petition calling for a pause on new data centres until the government gets a grip on the situation. Will you join me? action.friendsoftheearth.uk/petition/put...

Can’t wait to be part of this in September. I’ll be running a lovely event for local schools and then having fun with another writing workshop on Saturday 12th. Many thanks to the Imaginarium and National Trust and ACE.
