Thank you Simon. We’re using a Tascam DP24-SD, truly a wonderful piece of kit. Still technically digital recording, but analog in spirit and methods. The idea is to make the entire record on the Tascam (including mixing and mastering) and really embrace / push the limitations. Its an antidote to AI.

I am happy to report that our return to a more physical, embodied approach to making records (without a computer / DAW) is paying major dividends. We’re two tracks in and the results are something special. Everything comes out sounding like it was made in the 1970s, which is no bad thing (we think).

Just a note of solidarity with French students who are protesting the conditions of their schooling. When a generation feels continuously exploited and disenfranchised, what choice do they have? Media coverage would do well to focus a little more on the reasons for their actions, in our opinion.

I woke up in Brooklyn 6 miles from the WTC when the planes hit and ended up 3 miles away from Ground Zero when the towers collapsed as I attempted to get to work. Had I been on time that day, I would have been in the epicentre of the disaster zone when Tower 1 collapsed. I was among the lucky ones.
