@grahfmetal.bsky.socialOne of the more fun things to draw in #BeyondShadowgate was the world map. I loved the idea of collecting the pieces of the map as you progressed through the game, hiding puzzle hints on the pieces, and using it as the fast travel system

@grahfmetal.bsky.socialThe "puzzle" where you poison the water in the original Infested always bothered me. I didn't think it through, and it's very sloppy being easier and faster to brute force.
In the upcoming remake, Infested DX, I completely overhauled it, so it's actually... a puzzle now!

I redrew it today, this time as Tarot Woman. I added color, and updated the cards to be digital. In her boss fight she throws the cards to summon various hazards

@grahfmetal.bsky.socialIn #BeyondShadowgate, Talimar was imprisoned in the depths of Shadowgate, chained to a boulder and surrounded by binding sigils.
He escaped his prison due to one of the sigils being broken. This is a nod to The Sandman, where the protagonist, Dream, escapes when the sigil is broken by a wheelchair.

@grahfmetal.bsky.socialWhen making our #PointAndClickAdventure games, I like to have hand shots to make the games feel more dynamic. To draw those I use propes, like in our uncoming #IndieGame, Infested DX, where a paper towel tube is a flare, or a laundry detergent sampler I found in my apartment hallway is a pipe.
