“Now, I know that it may be risky, using these valuable seeds when I know virtually nothing about the sport, but I am nothing if not a risk taker,” Stede joked, turning the camera back to his face with an impish grin.

Ed smiled at the man’s enthusiasm and leaned back in his chair with a glass of whisky in his hand. “Now, I’ve obtained some seeds from last year’s winning pumpkin, Queen Anne’s Revenge, which of course came from Queen Anne, a beautiful specimen that tragically split just before weigh in,” he added,

“Hi everyone, I’m Stede Bonnet and I am new on the large veggie scene,” a chipper blond man with a crooked little fangy grin said from Ed’s phone screen. “I’ve always been amazed by these amazing, record-setting gourds that are on show at the fairs and I thought I’d give it a try.”
