Tune into @tcmparty.bsky.social Monday for my Pre-Code Crazy pick of the month: New Morals for Old (1932), starring Robert Young, Margaret Perry, and Myrna Loy. Treat yourself. bit.ly/4jmDEIx
Freddie is very dramatic on this #Caturday.
Remembering Glynis Johns, born on today's date in 1923. I know her best from Mary Poppins, An Ideal Husband, and 49th Parallel. The daughter of Welsh actor Mervyn Johns, she was born in Pretoria, South Africa, while her parents were there on tour. She died in 2024 at the age of 100.
Remembering Charles Bronson and Jill Ireland, who married on today's date in 1968. They remained together until Ireland's death in 1990.
Won't He do it?
Remembering George "Skip" Homeier, born on today's date in 1930. I first saw him in the 1954 noir Cry Vengeance, but during my obsession with Westerns a few years back, I re-discovered him in The Gunfighter, The Lone Gun, and The Tall T. He started his career at age 14 as "Skippy" Homeier.
Treat yourself to a trio of first-rate noirs on @tcmtv.bsky.social Saturday: Out of the Past (1947), The Set-Up (1949), and Loophole (1954).
You'll be glad you did. bit.ly/3YwfL4s
Bookish Wednesday! ๐
Yesterday's treasure hunt turned up these two vintage children's books, which will soon be available at The Timeless Hideaway. And they're just the beginning! I'll be sharing more of my finds in the next few days. Stay tuned!

Celebrating Angie Dickinson, who turns 95 today! May her day be as special as she is.
I will look for this, thanks!
Yes, indeed!
Tune into @tcmtv.bsky.social Friday for one of my favorite guilty noir pleasures: Where Danger Lives (1950). It's something else altogether. Pop over to my Shadows and Satin blog and see what I mean: tinyurl.com/2x22vdh7
On #ThrowbackThursday, you can file this under "Vintage Stuff Iโd Love to Have." I spotted this fabulous chair at Vintage Grind House in Chicago. I couldn't take it home, but there was NO WAY I was leaving without a picture. A gal can dream, can't she? ๐

Remembering Warren William, who died on today's date in 1948 at the age of 53. Loved so many of his movies, including Skyscraper Souls, Smarty, Gold Diggers of 1933, and Employees' Entrance.
Bookish Wednesday!
I collect vintage books that became the source material for classic films, so these beauties -- Anna Karenina, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Jane Eyre, and Vanity Fair -- caught my eye. Theyโll soon be coming to my Etsy shop. Which would you choose? #VintageBooks
Celebrating Mary Kay Place, who turns 78 today! I know her best from The Big Chill and Big Love, but she'll always be Loretta Haggers to me.
I found this 1933 Lux ad featuring Wynne Gibson (the namesake for my new kitten, Winnie) while flipping through Photoplay. Lux launched its U.S. toilet soap in 1925 and became famous for Hollywood endorsements. Today, the Unilever brand is still sold in 100+ countries! #VintageAds #ClassicHollywood
Remembering Paul Muni, born on today's date in 1895. He was memorable in so many films -- my favorites are I Am a Fugitive From a Chain Gang, Scarface, and Angel on My Shoulder.
Was it good? That's one I've never seen! Did you know that Verne and Peter Lorre met on the set of this film and got married a few years later?
Happy 79th birthday to Stephen King! ๐ I'm celebrating with two of King's books from my Etsy shop: a 1980 Book Club Edition of Firestarter and a 1989 First Edition, First Printing of The Dark Half. Both are available now!
