There's only so much one can do with EQ. Even so with EQ, the tonal change is obvious. Makes mixing a nightmare. I've read that studio session guitarists change their strings in the middle of the tune because of all the reasons I stated. I also just love the sound of fresh spanky strings.

I've been using D'addarios since forever. I think my skin produces more guck [ whatever it's called ] more than some people. Also, I do a lot of riffing, solos, etc. so they degrade quite fast. There's nothing worse than a tone change in the middle of the tune, and the mud degraded strings produce.

If I make sales that are in double digits [ number of sales ] then I'll be somewhat happy. I go through about 3 packs of strings every time I record a tune, not to mention the strings I go through working out tunes. At $12.25 per pack that's a hit. There's a reason I need fresh strings all the time
