Looks great! Better than my scraps of paper and one single sheet prints. 😁 I like that it's a booklet.

Running @directsun.bsky.social's A Familiar Tower in Cairn Trek right now, and one of my absolute favorite lines in all of RPG's happened last night:

"I pick up the shuttlecraft, and put it in my inventory"

God what a blessing of a module

WEIRD LITTLE FREAKS, a tournament adventure module by me and @betterlegends.bsky.social now has an official Shadowdark conversion by the great @nightnoon.games. Thank you Michael! www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/5...

I'm not on this episode because me and Brad and Yochai got in a big fight and I'm off the pod now. I don't want people to pick sides just listen to the episode Yochai explains everything

Season 2 of Ansible Uplink begins with a TIME WARP episode! @weepingstag.bsky.social joins to review the 1983 Classic Traveller module:

Adventure 9: Nomads of the World-Ocean by Andrew and William Keith.

This is a HUGE contribution to tooling for running games at the table. DirectSun is burying the lede a little. He has made a web template that lets you have clickable maps, preview hyperlinks, and have multiple views of an adventure open at once. This is an incredible resource for GMs!

Thank you :) <3

I've written a couple of guides on how to get started creating your own sites the same way and hosting them for free. There is a bit of a learning curve if you don't have a technical background, but hopefully these eases the path a bit. Let me know what you think and if you need help. 🍻

Using these features is my preferred way to run games when I'm running on the internet. I'm not trying to replace PDFs, just offering a digital-focused alternative for when you're already staring at a computer screen.

This compatibility also means that the first three Cairn adventures CAS-1, CAS-2, and CAS-3 by @yochaigal.bsky.social are playable with these enhancements right out of the box. Go run them! cairn.puzzledungeon.com/adventures/f...

Here's what the plug-ins look like when running on the Cairn SRD cairn.puzzledungeon.com

@directsun.bsky.socialOct 5, 2026, 8:32 PM

Sites like the Cairn SRD and the Designing Dungeons Course are written in a simple styling format called Markdown and then converted to web pages using an automated process. The extra gaming plugins work with the same tools and can be dropped in to existing or new sites just as easily as any others.

@directsun.bsky.socialOct 5, 2026, 8:32 PM

What I'm most excited about are the extra features to make running the game easier. Hovering over links will preview them, clicking on dice notation will roll dice, maps have click-able regions that take you to their keys. Just a few features from a suite of plug-ins called Just The Games.

@directsun.bsky.socialOct 5, 2026, 8:30 PM

I'll also mention that @maximlowe.com has not only graciously made Cairn conversion notes for A Familiar Tower, but also created an alternate Markdown version of A Familiar Tower specifically for Cairn. So you can run as-is, no context switching necessary!

@directsun.bsky.socialOct 5, 2026, 8:30 PM

There you'll also find a copy of the original OGL version of the Old School Essentials SRD available for quick reference at the same place where you run your games.

@directsun.bsky.socialOct 5, 2026, 8:30 PM

First, A Familiar Tower and Puzzle Dungeon: The Seers Sanctum are now available in Markdown and are playable in browser, complete with image support! The Markdown versions are free and licensed under CC BY NC 4.0. The artwork presented is property of the original artist and is used with permission.
