I am always, always grateful that I got to work with a human being for my book cover. I gave him an outline and he executed it. Getting to work with another person is so much more exciting and interesting then a machine.
It is hard but we pay human artists real money for covers. Our jacket copy tends to be a joint venture between our writers and our editors. We don’t use AI for anything. We wish absolute destruction on any publisher that is using AI or LLMs for covers, copy, or anything else. ☠️☠️☠️
@malarkeybooks.bsky.social sells books by real people with covers designed by real people
The number 1 thing that you can do to help a tiny press like Malarkey stay in operation is to buy ebooks straight from us. They’re all $5 or less and DRM-free and they don’t spy on you. The books, and this is important, are good!

Was happy to provide this quote.
A good list. Two of these are Malarkeys and three others are wonderful additions to my personal bookshelf.

This occupies its own genre. There are some surreal/weird fiction elements, but they’re all grounded around blue collar characters just trying to survive. Great stuff, bud.
Trust me: this is a great suggestion
do!
Hellarkey vol. 4, including my demonic (??) mommy-daughter nightmare, is Eleanor-approved. grab one from the @malarkeybooks.bsky.social shop for your October reading!
This is a wonderful interview with two wonderful writers/people. Better give it a listen buds!
Give this a listen!
