Progress doesn’t just happen. People make it happen. We’ve fought for decades to boldly go where everyone else has gone before. And we’re not done yet!

If you've not tuned in to @garethdennis.uk's excellent Railnatter on level boarding, it's a tale as old as the railways.

It's great to hear the new trains on TransPennine Express will deliver independent boarding for more passengers. We need step-free access to the platform and level boarding everywhere so disabled passengers can travel with ease and confidence, instead of having to wait for Passenger Assistance.

At Transport for All, disabled people come together to shape what better transport looks like and make sure our voices are heard where decisions are made.

Could your experience, judgement and ideas help us take that work further?

Everyone wants to feel valued and respected by the people around them, but Disabled people are facing hostility. Disabled leader Mik Scarlet has been sharing what needs to change, to make a society where we're all included and valued for who we are.

Being a trustee isn’t just about what you bring. It’s about being part of something you care about.

Our trustees help Transport for All stay rooted in disabled people’s experiences and focused on breaking down the barriers to our freedom to travel.

Transport should be accessible to us all. Join with us and other disabled people, and together we'll change the transport system. Become a member (it's free!): https://bit.ly/4n8me0m

Public transport should give us all the freedom to get where we need to go, when we need to. Removing time restrictions on disabled people’s bus passes is progress, but the pass only works if the whole journey works.

This month we’ll be looking at what's still to do on our long list!

We all need the freedom to travel without worrying that transport will fail us. It means we can say “yes” to life.

For many disabled people in the UK, that’s not our reality. Transport for All exists to break down barriers so we can all make the journeys we want. Learn more: https://bit.ly/4rZowmd
