First creative task for other S3 lab science class started on Tuesday.We dyed white material using red cabbage juice which we boiled in water using Bunsen.We soaked our material then made tie dye patterns using acid & alkali! Who knew red cabbage was an indicator? #braesbigdraw2026 #braescreativity
Second task was more chromatography flowers! We used filter paper, drew patterns with pens and added water. We used hairdryers to dry before making our flowers! #braesbigdraw2026 #braescreativity

Starting the day at Essex Farm Cemetery and the John McCrae Memorial, remembering the soldiers who served and learning about the history behind In Flanders Fields. The poem was wonderfully read by Conor🌺🇬🇧

🇧🇪 Poelkapelle Exploring Poelkapelle and reflecting on the scale of loss during the First World War. Around 7,000 Commonwealth servicemen are commemorated here, with around 80% of the fallen commemorated here are unidentified. A powerful reminder of the horrors of WWI 🌺🇬🇧

We marched this morning to the largest British and Commonwealth war cemetery in the world, with thousands of soldiers remembered here from the First World War.
