As @lottelydia.bsky.social said on our recent episode: 400 workers lose their jobs in North Sea oil and gas, it's front page news and MPs have to explain themselves on live TV. You take a hammer to the university sector and *crickets*
We are soon going to have to come to grips with the fact that this shit is asbestos for the mind
I don't want to be annoying 💜 but in case this stuff is up your alley, I'd appreciate any feedback It's way out of what I normally write 👀 but I think it turned out nice. There's always room for improvement though 🙏 Also if you have ideas for how this man needs to leave this realm: let me know ✨
Basically the mammal version of a robin, alhtough perhaps a bit less bloodthirsty.
I have my fingers crossed for a Dyane version so I can have an EV version of this legend.
Russian Data Hubs destroyed by Ukrainian drones. Online support in Germany for AfD, and in the UK for Reform, takes a huge dip. COINCIDENCE?!
I used to use Yandex search engine because it was often better at finding what I wanted. But what I wanted was Soviet metal music nostaligia or, even earlier, responses to Chekhov's attitude to work in his plays. It was a decent search engine in 2005. I haven't used it since 2017 and wouldn't again.
And now I'm due to give the talk again months down the line - again, how is this framed so it's still "timely" or relevant?
For example, my CADS presentation on Starmer's Labour was delivered the day after Starmer resigned. How did I reposition the work and my interest in it in relation to a different context, and how did that change the value of the work itself? 🧐
One thing I'm really interested in at the minute is hearing from people who are writing on/working on ongoing political situations. How do you maintain the relevance and timeliness of your work in the face of constantly changing context?
I always urge people to be both lucid but never doomer about climate action because if some things are too late (such as the sharp reduction in biodiversity and the loss of millennial old growth), a lot of things aren’t too late to take action on
This is really cool :D
Reze, Bomb Devil
My first fanart of the Chainsaw Man collection maybe? If you’d like it? )
Drew her during the trip to Brcelona this weekend and couldn’t wait to share her with y’all! 🖤

Oh aye, wildlife on British coinage "is a denial of history", is it now?
We have people over for D&D/similar twice a week, occasional boardgames, and a massive (diminishing) gathering at New Year (food and boardgames), but my AuDHD menopause-riddled self can barely handle that these days. I've stopped catering, certainly. But we bought the house to fit a gaming table.
About 10 years ago, my girlfriend's boss asked her what her dinner parties were like. People pay minimum wage in London and think their employees are throwing dinner parties.
Hi, I’m a sighted alt text user! Here are some reasons I use it: - Slow Internet on an airplane - I’m over 40, I have no idea who that celebrity is - Bluesky broke images again - My vision sucks and that text is too small to read otherwise - Conveys further context and authorial intent
Sunday reflection: Marcus running the D&D session was a masterclass in pacing. Watching him keep the table engaged made me realize he’s ready for the big stuff. Passing the torch feels a lot like watching your kid grow up—terrifying and wonderful. #Fatherhood #DnD
Graphic design is 50% this, 50% trying to convince people not to make the Logo 50% of the design. Whatever the thing you are designing is…
This.
