1st event of its kind, I believe: Senators Van Hollen and Welch intro'd, and 30+ staffers (some who will have a role in appointee confirmations) came to hear testimony from fmr officials and @akbarshahidahmed.bsky.social on the malfeasance of the Biden officials now angling for 2028 gigs.

This week, Win Without War Education Fund, A New Policy, and @cipolicy.bsky.social cohosted a panel for staff from 27 congressional offices on accountability for US officials implicated in the Gaza genocide. Hear what our panelists had to say ⬇️

Former State official Stacy Gilbert: It’s unforgivable that officials who gaslit the American people have been permitted to move on to jobs at elite institutions. That’s why it’s more important than ever to hold them accountable and prevent them from continuing to shape US foreign policy.

Former State Department official Stacy Gilbert: The Biden admin’s policy “seemed to be that we would gaslight the world and tell egregious lies in order to skirt the law” to continue arming Israel — a hypocrisy that compelled Gilbert to resign from a 20-year career in government.

@akbarshahidahmed.bsky.social: After their support helped Israel kill over 67,000 Palestinians to be killed and cost Dems the 2024 election, former officials like Jake Sullivan, Brent McGurk, and Avril Haines have been allowed to take up cushy positions at universities, think tanks, and VC firms.

"I was frankly shocked by how cynical so many of the officials I talked to were ... 'if I question my peers ... will they hire me in the next administration?'"

@akbarshahidahmed.bsky.social, journalist and author of "Crossing the Red Line: Biden, His Advisors, and Israel's War in Gaza," highlights how Biden officials like Jake Sullivan and Brent McGurk refused to accept the well-documented starvation of Palestinians in Gaza.

Jake Sullivan had his spokesperson call into NPR *during
@akbarshahidahmed.bsky.social's interview* to complain he was treated unfairly in Ahmed's book about how the Biden administration fathered the Gaza genocide.

Sullivan wants us to know he was in fact "working tirelessly" to help Gaza.

US Army Major (Ret) @harrisonmann.bsky.social warned on my show while Pete Hegseth has failed at Iran war, he has succeeded at making US military "more aligned with his white nationalist, white supremacist values and into an institution more loyal to Trump than US Constitution" youtu.be/CCsczRmNauI

"From the perspective of Tehran, this is not over." Yes, Trump has somewhat mitigated energy disruptions, but Iran has more cards to play, I told @audiecornish.bsky.social . And it seems that while we were on air, the Houthis attacked a Saudi refinery again.
