No worker should ever be fired or disciplined by a robo boss. AI systems have been prone to errors, bias, and misjudgments. SB 947 ensures human oversight of AI in the workplace. AI must remain a tool controlled by humans, not the other way around.
A huge thanks to @senmcnerney.bsky.social & @governor.ca.gov for leading the way to pass #SB900, the Print Ads DISCLOSE Act, to fight dark money in politics!
Now voters will be able to much more easily see the top funders on billboards and all other political print ads.
📌 AB 2222 was sponsored by Rebuild Local News and introduced by @asmchrisward.bsky.social, with Assemblymember @buffywicks.bsky.social as joint author and @senmcnerney.bsky.social, Assemblymembers @joshlowenthal.bsky.social, @asmtinamckinnor.bsky.social, and Sharon Quirk-Silva joining as coauthors.
SB 947 bars California employers from relying solely on AI systems, known as automated decision-making systems (ADS), to fire or discipline workers. It also mandates human oversight and verification when employers use ADS to assist in termination and disciplinary decisions.
Excellent!! @governor.ca.gov today signed my SB 947, the No Robo Bosses Act of 2026 — a groundbreaking new law that requires human oversight of artificial intelligence systems in the workplace to prevent abuses. It's the first such law in the nation! @californialabor.bsky.social
Huge thanks to General Atomics for sponsoring SB 925. sd05.senate.ca.gov/news/newsom-...
Fusion energy has the potential to provide nearly limitless clean, safe, and reliable power, while creating an economic ecosystem that will rival Silicon Valley. SB 925 will help ensure California is a fusion technology leader in the coming decades.
SB 925 requires the CA Energy Commission (CEC) to develop a strategic plan to advance fusion energy. The plan will identify opportunities to expand research & development, locate potential sites for fusion power plants & streamline permitting processes for fusion facilities.
Great news! @governor.ca.gov signed my SB 925, which accelerates the development of fusion energy in California – a potential clean power gamechanger.
