@billiejsweeney.bsky.socialReposted by @imarajones.bsky.social“For transgender Americans, this historic precedent is already a reality. The Human Rights Campaign has documented at least 399 transgender and gender-nonconforming people killed since 2013. Nearly 60% were Black transgender women.”
@billiejsweeney.bsky.socialReposted by @imarajones.bsky.social“Dehumanizing language is how permission for violence takes hold. When people in power treat a group as not equal, it can send the signal that abusing or even killing members of that group is acceptable. For transgender Americans, this historic precedent is already a reality”
@imarajones.bsky.socialIn my latest @ms.now piece,I write about what concerns me as we approach Election Day.”As a Black transgender woman who has spent years investigating America’s anti-trans movement,I am alarmed. Because escalating rhetoric is almost always followed by real world action.” www.ms.now/opinion/trum...

@willa-oczki.bsky.socialReposted by @imarajones.bsky.social@imarajones.bsky.social is on MS Now w/ some regularity, tho not nearly enough, she is an excellent guest and communicator. There is one or 2 attorneys I've seen, tho perhaps not on a regular basis, but MS Now does not shy away from trans folks. Agree w/Cary- overall not often.
