Oh good another grant rejection. We have applied for 7 grants so far this year, with a bunch more we’ll be applying for this fall. We’ve been rejected by 6, and got runner up for 1 of them, resulting in $1000. Our annual operating budget is 250k. Oh wait that reminds me. Anybody need a tote bag??

The mushrooms are up here in Southeast Alaska. Going out and looking for them and taking pictures is sooo fun and a great way to get away from the news.
If your audience "has zero exposure to Alaska," then it is all that much more important to be accurate.
Yeah, I know, and I'm tired of people misrepresenting Alaska. It feels like it's been happening a lot lately, probably because we've been in the national political news. Everyone is an expert, but no one knows anything about life up here (or even the geography!).
