Anyone who's worked in gamedev knows how deeply collaborative it is, and how someone refusing to speak to you - ESPECIALLY someone you report to - can completely and utterly derail your work. This isn't a misunderstanding. It's active union-busting.

If you think an artist's style looks like AI but you can scroll back through their portfolio and see them doing the same work before 2020, congrats, you're not looking at an AI grifter. You're looking at one of the original victims whose entire style AI stole.

This is (partially) a joke, but more seriously, I have actually found my game designs get better the more I reject conventional wisdom, and explicitly design around my personal strengths I just struggle to give that advice to novices because, weeeeell, your instincts aren't that good yet probably 😭

See to my findings even as an idea generator I find it troublesome because the machine doesn't understand the reason or purpose behind it's own ideas, since I have to research what it is and why anyway, it just ends up being a pointless step, regardless to say the rest I big time agree with

Yep! There's no better explanation behind their actions, they didn't bother to understand the reasons behind why I think the way I do before condemning me for them so it's obvious these people are not to be trusted

It feels like that Yugi and Kaiba meme where Kaiba gets wrecked by Exodia but the final card of Exodia is just "I do know how Gen AI works actually and it's stupid"

I think it's funny when I get lumped into those "FOOLS WHO ARE WRONG ABOUT AI" lists cause in the beginning I was open-minded to AI Art and took the time to understand how it worked and attempted to find a use for it but that's how I came to the conclusion that it sucks and does more harm than good

Sometimes my favorite part of making a game is simply writing the documentation for it

Of course whether that works or not depends on their understanding of how 3D modeling works cause some people legit think it's all trigonometry and scripting and not "I make arrow go up and my square is now big"

for me it's even worse cause as you know I specifically do art for games so even when the Normie understands what a game dev is they automatically assume it's anything related to code so I have to say "I am an artist who focuses on art for video games"
