don't talk about this a lot because I think it's a whole can of worms and I don't like to get barraged by SWEs about it but the kind of tooling that you COULD have as a social scientist now is genuinely mind-blowing and we've never had this sort of power for our work
welcome & nice to see you Ricky! hope you're well!
legitimately one of my favorite things lol*, especially done with friends or strangers like a peloton (contingent on making the flight)

@maxbittker.bsky.social digging runescape 2003 tonight, this is amazing 🤣 big shoutout for full AI integration: github.com/MaxBittker/r... and the currently running perma-instance at rs-sdk-demo.fly.dev #runescape
apparently Jim Rutt did a lot of that simulation when balancing the original game! the game is slightly more complex than it might seem, I think because of these small tweaks he did to dial it in
My goal is preserving what I like about the game, and adding qol + tools to help people improve. I really enjoy playing my version but haven’t gotten meaningfully better from it 😅
Ha wow, that is really rare! The AI wins about 98% of games, I’ve seen only one or two of these W-L games out of my 600 games on it
9 games that changed me
hey @maxbittker.bsky.social, just found this. amazing timing, I am a big network wars fan and always wanted to do a web-based clone that plays faster. I also wanted analysis of optimal play and was thinking of trying bigger game boards or tweaking other parameters. you've done it all! great work
yo that's awesome to hear!! I am writing up a little blog post on this now.
I'm curious, once you've tried this version and seen ai play + error analysis, do you find it improves your play, or not? Have you learned anything from the tool?
Made this giant bird puppet with people this weekend! It was great!
So what's next? I'm looking for full-time work in Denmark. If you know of a role in DK that needs someone who's spent two decades at the intersection of AI, human creativity, and socially-driven tech experiences, I'd love an introduction
