Across his books, Milan took BattleTech and made it HIS. His Camanchos are BELOVED, but his DA work is often overlooked. But this is where he truly shined- a few decades of writing under his belt, the abiliity to utterly cut loose in a brand new way? We lost a real one when he passed. Seyla. :)
It's where we meet "Heinz-Otto María Manoel de Soares zu Mannstein, Markgraf von Texeira," a character of the type not seen again, a womanizing ex-spy ambassador with a wife, a mistress, and at least one lover.
There is so much to love in this book. This is where Malvina is cunning, tactical and brilliant. It's where she finds Cynthy, and she struggles to understand why she might want to protect a child.
Out of town on buisness, haven't been posting lately for #mechtober
But I couldn't miss Milan.
BTech has/had and AMAZING run of writers, but none have been a lyrical as Milan. As poetic. And I think this is his masterpiece
This is far more fucking accurate than I'd like. ;p hahaha
This is a ln insightful thought and really hits home. I've been on that train and it's a great ride. This video will resonate strongly with many people.
(Screams in "It's funny because it's true")
In DC this week for AUSA (will start posting tomorrow with the hashtag and stuff) Brought along some train reading stuff! :)
For #mechtober today, it's Loren Coleman. My favorite piece of his was Isis Marik visiting Victor Davion from Endgame. His description of how haggard, how tired, how BEATEN he is was so vivid it shocked me. I haven't read the book in well over a decade, but that scene lives in my head to this day.
#MechTober 11 - Loren L. Coleman
Sword of Sedition and Fortress Republic are key parts of the storyline of the Dark Ages. Victor Steiner-Davion’s funeral gives readers a chance to see many of the major characters for the era interacting and then Fortress Republic covers the raising of the wall.
Talarico: I've heard credible reports that Ken Paxton has a serious medical condition that causes clinical levels of cowardice. People are concerned. He has asked for proof of life from me. I'm asking for proof of spine from him.
all those people who called me "irresponsible" for advocating air strikes against specific data centers better be eating crow.
We’ve been talking about this for years. None of these far-right movements are organic.
I first read double blind as a kid ,and it was one of my favorites growing up. Today’s #Mechtober day is about Loren Coleman ,who made me adore the capellan confederation. Double Blind also gave me my first dose of Canopus and Avanti’s Angels. Also I adored sword of sedition and fortress republic <3
(sobbing) he was literally so fucking small the smallest puppy in the world like you could sneeze and he would blow away in the wind but he was literally given so much love he grew into the biggest dog in the world have yuo ever heard anything more beautiful lady at the taco bell drive thru: ma'am,

Dazzle-ships in Drydock at Liverpool, by Edward Wadsworth, 1919. It’s a topic that appears to have fascinated Wadsworth. I love every single one of his takes on the subject.
