It’s not personal; it’s practical. By blocking curators who consistently don’t match your vibe, you’ll save credits, skip unnecessary frustration, and focus on those who do connect with your music 🎧
Ever get the same type of feedback from a curator who clearly isn’t feeling your sound? Instead of letting it get to you or creating a TikTok video about how SubmitHub is trash 😅 Just take control of your experience and... block them! 🚫🧵👇
🖌️ Consistency across releases. If you’re planning multiple singles, pick one visual thread – fonts, tone, or layout – that ties them together – your profile will look cohesive and intentional. In the end, a strong cover doesn’t need to shout – it just needs to fit your sound 💡
🖌️ Use texture instead of clutter. If the design feels flat, add subtle grain, lighting, or gradient effects instead of more shapes or objects. It’ll add depth without chaos.
🖌️ Color harmony wins. Choose two or three colors that match the mood of your music, rather than a lot that will feel chaotic or cheap. Muted tones for chill tracks, bold contrasts for upbeat ones. Tools like Coolors or Adobe Color can help you find palettes that just click.
🖌️ Think in thumbnails. Most people will see your artwork as a really tiny square on Spotify. Shrink your image to a small size – does it still look good? If not, simplify it or increase contrast so key details stand out.
🖌️ Stick to a clear concept. Before you even start, decide what emotion or story you want the artwork to reflect – one feeling, not five. If your track feels nostalgic, dreamy, or bold, keep the visuals consistent with that vibe.
Working on your song or album cover? 🧑🎨 Your artwork is the 1st impression people get before they even hit play, so it deserves love – but it doesn’t have to break the bank. Whether you’re designing it yourself or using free tools, here are some tips to make your cover look like it came from a pro 👇
Once per week I stop by #SubmitHub (go be friends => @submithub.bsky.social ) to find out what new #songs are popular. Usually their "Top 100" has ~2 that I like. That's just how I am. Today was amazing: I liked 13 different songs. It was like sweeps week but for #music. www.submithub.com/popular
Stoked to hear this 💜
But it’s not just for safety… it’s also great for inspiration! By checking out artists who sound like you, you can see which playlists they’re on and get ideas about the moods and vibes to target for your own music 🎯
At submithub.com/artist-checker, you can look up your (or any) artist profile for botted/payola playlists 💡 It’s a smart way to keep your profile safe: if you find risky playlists, you can reach out to them and ask to be removed OR reach out directly to Spotify and your distributor.
We’ve had our free Playlist Checker for a while now, letting you check any playlist (even ones outside SubmitHub, since our curators here are already thoroughly vetted). But did you know there’s also a Bot (Artist) Checker? 🔎 🧵👇
P.S. No need to have "submithub" in the link. Every link has a shortened option, too (your-name.sbmt.to – the first part is editable, by the way), and there's a custom domain option for advanced users as well ✔️
Go to your artist profile (submithub.com/artist/insert-name OR Profile icon (top right corner)–Manage account–My artists–click on the artist you want a link for) and generate or edit your Artist link. You can reorder, add or remove links, add music preview, and get analytics about clicks.
There are numerous services offering this, most of which are either limited in features if free or require payment. You might not know, but our Links feature (100% free) also does this. It's one-click easy to set up if you already have info about your project on SubmitHub 🔘
Why is #linkinbio a good thing? 🔗
For a long time, you could add only 1 link to your social profiles. Even though it's now possible to add multiple links on IG, it can become cluttered. A link in bio solves this with a small, easy-to-navigate page with all the links.

If you've got a festive tune ready (or almost ready), now's the time to start getting everything in place for... November! ✨🚀
Taking those different listening habits into account when planning your release is actually a pretty good thing. Releasing too soon might feel awkward and clash with Halloween 👻 ... while releasing too late means missing a big chunk of the holiday listening season.
