Die (abgewählte!) Verkehrssenatorin will den Pop-up-Radweg auf der #Kantstraße, der zu einer mehr als 200-prozentigen Erhöhung des Radverkehrs geführt hat, in eine gemeinsame Busspur mit "Radverkehr frei" umwandeln, um Parkplätze zu erhalten.

Through a succession of moral panics, this offensive and aggressive turn chacterises not simply the extremist fringe but also far-right parties and governments. In the introduction, we named this phase of conspiratorial acceleration the fifth phase of denial. Building on the anti-ecological and anti-migrant elements of previous phases, fossil capital and the far right perceive oppositional threats as existential in nature: the life' of fossil fuels and Western civilisation is at stake. Executing an offensive counterstrategy not only means defending existing moral economies of mobility, then, but also contesting perceived progressive victories in the domain of cultural politics. It is from this hegemonic battle that a new conspiratorial architecture emerges: the inverted crisis. The inverted crisis is the general articulation of the far right's moral panic cycle in this conjuncture. It refers to moments and movements through which specific moral panics converge into a 'general conspiracy' using strategies of inversion. Propelling the self-radicalising politics of the far right, it is used to channel social anxiety against the energy transition and against progressive momentum wherever it may appear. The inverted crisis is thus a core logic within ongoing processes of fascisation, and a driving force in the rise of fossil fascism today. The concept of "inverted crisis' can be used at different levels of abstraction, however, with both a narrower and a broader meaning. In the narrower sense, we use 'inverted crisis' to denote the far right's inversion of the climate crisis. In this framing, it is not climate change, but rather climate mitigation policies and their proponents that present an existential threat to society. …
