Another morning in Holyrood Park cutting back gorse with the Ranger Service. We're trying to clear larger areas around the Rock Whitebeam. Always good fun to be working in the park.

Windy afternoon for a walk along the Tweed from Peebles to the Neidpath viaduct & back. Lovely late lunch before the bus back to Edinburgh.

I've thoroughly enjoyed volunteering with Restoration Forth, it's been so much fun. Here's hoping we get many more oyster larvae!

We were lucky enough to get places on @seabirdcentre.bsky.social SOS Puffin trip to Craigleith today. Very satisfying to cut down the mallow knowing that it will help access to burrows next year for the puffins.

Out with @wolct.bsky.social this morning in the Murrayburn/Longstone area. The strong breeze made litter picking a little more difficult. Two full bags collected whilst other volunteers planted trees.

What a lovely read this is, leaving me with plenty to think about. This came to my attention thanks to @david-farrier.bsky.social but it took a while to get it from the library, which is very apt!

I've often wondered if developers get charged for the exclusive use of pavements/carriageways, does anyone know?

Very much enjoyed our Love Music Community Choir practice last night. It was great to be singing with Robyn for the first time. The concert is on Monday 9th November at the Usher Hall.

Lovely sunny Monday morning for some weeding at Drakkars Drift garden. What a great use of an old bowling green in Victoria Park.

Beautiful autumn afternoon for the September Edinburgh Critical Mass ride yesterday. Enjoyed the company and seeing parts of south Edinburgh that I hadn't seen for a while. @edcriticalmass.bsky.social

Fascinating tour of the conservation studios at National Gallery of Scotland Modern One. The only complaint is that we could have done with more time.

Enjoyable wee stroll around Newhaven with @geowalks.scot yesterday talking geology. Thanks to Heart of Newhaven for organising.

Another enjoyable evening at Leith Community Croft listening to music from so many talented folk including my lovely wife performing here for the first time. Feeling autumnal away from the fire.

Had an interesting visit to the Forth Marine Hatchery near North Berwick last week with fellow Restoration Forth volunteers. It was great to hear about the work going on to raise lobsters and also oyster spat.

Enjoyed my wading session this morning with @wolct.bsky.social on the Balgreen/Saughton Park stretch. Two trolleys & bags of rubbish removed from the river plus a few Balsam plants pulled up 💪

A very breezy morning in Holyrood Park cutting back gorse with the Ranger Service. Would have been nice to have been working in the sunshine but an enjoyable session nevertheless.
