Rereading his work, I suspect his reputation will dip for a while as there are definitely parts which wouldn't pass muster today, lots of casual sexism and body-shaming.
'All Souls' is an introductory novel (of sorts) for the 'Your Face Tomorrow' trilogy, and it's probably a good starting point. Having said that, if you didn't like 'Tomorrow in the Battle...', Marías may just not be your thing as the style is pretty consistent...
