Thanks to volunteers like Susan contributing their health information, together we're enabling researchers to find new ways to prevent, detect and treat breast cancer. #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth @breastcancernow.bsky.social @cancerresearchuk.org

A woman stands in front of an Our Future Health poster. A text box identifies her as Susan, 67, from Huddersfield. Her quote reads: "I've had breast cancer three times. Given my history, I think it's important that more research is done."

If you have completed these steps, that's all we need from you at this stage and this information is already helping health research. We will contact you via email in future if there are opportunities to take part in further studies or for you to receive health feedback.

Thanks for taking part Mary. If you have already signed up, you can give the letter to a family member or friend. Taking part involves completing a questionnaire and visiting one of our clinics to donate a blood sample. You can check your progress by logging in to your Our Future Health account:

You don’t have to be a science student to contribute to health research – but Zuriel has done both by taking part in #OurFutureHealth and helping researchers find new ways to prevent, detect and treat diseases.

A young person holding up a green selfie board with a plus-shaped cut-out. A text box identifies her as Zuriel, 18, Leicester. A quote next to her reads: "I'd just learned about blood pressure testing on my Biomedical Sciences course, so it was cool for me to get my own blood pressure measured." The Our Future Health logo is in the top left corner.

Data from our participants is already helping researchers make new discoveries about diseases. Professor Jennifer Quint shares how she is using #OurFutureHealth to support her research:

A woman with short brown hair is smiling. Beside her, a quote reads, "Using Our Future Health's data, we hope to see whether the risk factors for respiratory diseases differ between men and women." At the bottom, a caption identifies her as Professor Jennifer Quint, Professor of Respiratory Epidemiology at Imperial College London. The "Our Future Health" logo is in the top left corner.

With more young people like Elliot taking part in our research programme, we can better represent people under 40, who have often been left out of health research and new discoveries about diseases.

We’ve got a stall at the #APNANHS conference today, come along to spin our wheel and learn more about us. We’ve enjoyed chatting with people about how #OurFutureHealth can better represent South Asian communities in research. Shout-out to one of our real participants Samina, who came to say hi!

More than 1/3 of adults in England have high blood pressure and 2/3 of these are unaware of their condition according to a new study of 1.4 million adults. Oxford Population Health researchers analysed clinic blood pressure measurements collected by @ourfuturehealthuk.bsky.social buff.ly/h052TSQ

Quote from Wenyu Liu, Medical Statistician at Oxford Population Health: 'While hypertension is largely a “silent killer”, the current approach to detecting and treating high blood pressure is not fit for purpose. This underscores the need for population-wide prevention strategies alongside targeted treatment for people at high cardiovascular risk.'
