Today we and the Travel Training Team took 13 pupils from Felixstowe School & Sixth Form by train from Trimley to Ipswich. They learned about tickets/how to read the route map/rail safety. The scheme is designed to help students gain confidence to travel independently.

An autumn country walk is enlivened by a passing train at Bramfield on @eastsuffolklines.co.uk, as @greateranglia.bsky.social 755 410 races towards Halesworth on the 10.08am Ipswich to Lowestoft this morning.

A grey train rushes past the fence and gate of a foot crossing, framed by trees and blue sky above and a foreground of dappled shadows on a footpath.

Today we and Essex & South Suffolk Community Rail Partnership teamed up to host a Shanty Train special from #Manningree to #Harwich Town! Jane, June and Thalia were decked out in pirate gear on the specially decorated train that made two journeys, taking passengers to the Annual Sea Shanty Festival.

More of an October feel to the weather in some parts of East Suffolk today, so here's a scene snapped on a somewhat sunnier September day at Derby Road station. The platform flower tubs always look fantastic thanks to the station adopter volunteers.

Aren't these photos of Greater Anglia #Lowestoft station stunning?

They were snapped Monday evening at 19.05 and just after the service to #Ipswich had departed. Many thanks to Stu Bert!

It was a fantastic platform performance yesterday @ Felixstowe station. The Level Two Youth Project kicked off Felixstowe Heritage Open Days Weekend telling the story of the Dunkirk evacuation through dance, poetry and spoken word, based on Winston Churchill's speech 'We Shall Fight on the Beaches'.

In late 2020 volunteers seeded an area @ Derby Road station to create a wildflower meadow. Annually, after the flowers die back, it's strimmed; the seeds then drop. Today volunteers raked the meadow & put the stalks into on-site compost bins. A frog, firebug & ladybirds were observed in the meadow.
