We are delighted to see FORRT winning the Leo Waaijers Open Science Award 2026 yesterday at the NOSF! @forrt.bsky.social supports open and reproducible research through shared educational resources. A cause to our heart. Congratulations Dr Flavio Azevedo and the FORRT team!

New diamond open access outlet for developmental psych. Free to publish, free to read, and led by a great team. One more step away from for-profit publishers.

Since my institution pays >100K€ annualy for SAGE journals, I am allowed to read their papers online (but not download all), so here is the link: osf.io/4927f/overview

Open absurdity: @psychscience.bsky.social's Psychological Science journal has open science badges but they won't tell you where the data/prereg actually is unless you buy their article.

What do we expect of robustness reproductions in the age of AI? Help us find out at the Münster Reprohack workshop from December 2-4. We will conduct AI-led and human-led robustness reproductions, that are subsequently submitted to @r2journal.bsky.social

We had an amazing time at the University of Münster. Our replicators covered papers across psychology, public health and political science! Huge thanks to @bschlipphak.bsky.social, Katrin Schmietendorf, @aufdroeseler.bsky.social and Oliver Kamps for organizing.

@lukaswallrich.bsky.social is doing a hands-on: Doing an AI-led reproduction and comparing models. Here is a random example from his slights about how agents perform on the "deadly femal hurricanes" study (10.1073/pnas.1402786111).

Oh, thank you! How could I have forgotten about this? I 100% agree on university presses.

Can you elaborate on what you learned from Amsterdam? I think (some of) the authors do not have a permanent position and publishing with Routledge in their field may have positive effects on their assessment.

@aufdroeseler.bsky.socialSep 28, 2026, 10:09 AM

Yes. They suggested an institutional repository (free for the authors) and an institutional service for book publishing (which, if it is like the one at my institution, would probably cost the authors less than 1% of the Routledge price).

@aufdroeseler.bsky.socialSep 28, 2026, 10:01 AM

Later in the discussion, somebody asked the presenters/authors: Why have you published with Routledge at all? >> We are still at a point, where such things are important for funding and for individual careers...

What journal is this for?

@aufdroeseler.bsky.socialSep 28, 2026, 9:09 AM

Will definitely take a closer look (at the free version), which you can access directly here: www.taylorfrancis.com/reader/downl...

Save big now? After €20,000 were paid for one open access book (from tax money), the publisher hides the free openly accessible copy on their website, allowing people to pay another few hundred euros for what is already free. Shame on you @routledgebooks.bsky.social.

Very interesting discussions are happening at @forrt.bsky.social's AI in meta-science conference. For example: You can now produce a paper every hour. Will the literature be entirely unusable without another layer of AI or will there be a bifurcation for low- vs high-effort papers? Can PRC work?

Over the past two years, I4R partnered with Psychological Science (@psychscience.bsky.social) on a large reproducibility project.

67 independent teams reproduced 64 articles published in 2024–2025, about 44% of eligible papers.
