5/6 We need to make sure that the suspension comes into force before end of November since Black Friday and Christmas sales are important to small businesses.

4/6 I call on the European Parliament to follow the lead of the ENVI Committee and also the Council to adopt their position so that we can start the trilogues in October. Because the time is essential.

3/6 This is an important step in the right direction. When our rules create unnecessary complexity for small businesses, it is our responsibility to make things easier.

2/6 Yesterday, the ENVI Committee voted by an overwhelming majority in favour of suspending the authorised representation requirements under the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) for micro and small companies. This is exactly what we proposed in the Environmental Omnibus last December.
