Today in Sheffield, we launched our new #WomanoftheNorth report: ‘Woman of the North: Closing the health gap for minority ethnic women’.

“This is not an invention, this is not a narrative, this is real”

Our first panel at #LabourPartyConference2026 gave a key insight into the potential when policymakers, academics, charities, and young people come together to make a difference when it comes to child and adolescent mental health.

Inequalities in health among minority ethnic women need to be urgently addressed, and we are leading the way in research.

It was great to once again showcase our work at #LabourPartyConference2026 putting, a spotlight on a widely overlooked area of health.

Absolutely brilliant to hear Yvette Cooper call violence against women and girls an “epidemic” and for it to be formally treated as a “public health” crisis. Alongside the roll out of Steps to Safety to GPs this represents a clear commitment to tackling VAWG.
